Pre-Wedding Skin Care Guide for Groom

Gone are the days when the poor groom would be standing in a corner while his bride was the centre of attention. Nowadays, being a groom can be fun too. So, here are a few skin care tips for our handsome groom which will give his bride a run for her money.
Identify your skin type

The first step towards beauty and skin care is identifying what type of skin you have. Is it too oily and acne prone? Or is it too rough and dry? Are you lucky enough to have normal skin or do you have a combination of both oily and dry skin? You can visit a dermatologist who will help you determine your skin type. Once you have the answers to these questions, you can start your beauty regime.

Daily skin care regime

Cleansing, toning and moisturizing are the most important components of a beauty regime.

  • If you have oily skin then you should apply astringent to close the pores of your skin. This should be done thrice a week.
  • Those who have dry skin should invest in a good quality moisturizer to keep their skin smooth and supple. If you work outdoors a lot, then a sunscreen with high SPF is a must have for you.
  • Wash your face at least twice a day, especially, if you have been out in the sun for long.
Right Food and Proper Sleep

Oily and greasy food clogs up your system and in turn your skin. Say goodbye to chicken tandoori and stock your fridge with fresh veggies. Olive oil, fish particularly salmon, carrots and green tea are the secret to healthy skin. Incorporate them into your diet and you will be amazed at the results.

Drinking and smoking should also be avoided as they cause dryness. Sleep is also vital for a groom to get rid of baggy eyes or dark circles. Get at least 8 hours of sleep every day. This will add radiance to your skin.
Splurge on a Spa

Do not think twice before emptying your wallet on a spa. After all, it is your wedding and you deserve to be pampered.

  • Opt for exfoliation and facial cleansing treatments as they will get you rid of all the dirt and grime which clog your skin pores.
  • A relaxing massage too will ease out all your stress and will make your skin glow
  • If you cannot afford to go to a spa regularly then why not enjoy the benefits of a spa at home?
  • Use ‘multani mitti’, once a week, to exfoliate your skin. Also, apply a mixture of ‘malai’ and ‘besan’ on your face thrice a week for natural glow.
Choose your soap with care

Soaps are the ones which act as villains when it comes to skin problems. So, if you are using the wrong soap, you are making your poor skin suffer. You should choose a soap which has hydrating properties if you have a dry skin.

  • Those with normal skin should go with a mild soap whereas carbolic soaps are best suited to those with oily skin.
So these were a few skin care tips for grooms. What is the secret of your glowing skin? Share it with other grooms in our comments section.
